We understand that purchasing a mobility vehicle is a major investment, and every bit of help with funding it can make a significant difference. That’s why, as part of our service to you, we help identify alternative sources of funding and assistance.

We will work with you to explore any applicable funding options and have listed below some of the options.

In Ontario

Jordan's Principle

Jordan’s Principle helps respond to the unmet needs of First Nations Children, and they may be able to help you with the cost of a mobility vehicle or adaptation if you meet certain requirements. To contact them call 1-855-JP-CHILD (1-855-572-4453).

Assistive Devices Program (ADP)

A government program that provides support and funding to Ontario residents with a valid Ontario Health Card and have a physical disability of 6 months or longer. Contact your local Service Ontario location for more information.

The ALS Society of Ontario

Equipment loan pool and may provide partial assistance with funding for those with ALS. Applicants must be registered with ALS Ontario to qualify. Call 1-866-611-8545 for more information.

Alzheimer Society of Ontario

Applicants must be registered with the Alzheimer Society of Ontario and must consider other government funding and be in a financial hardship situation. Call 1-800-879-4226 for more information.

The Arthritis Society

Call 1-800-321-1433 for more information.

Canadian Paraplegic Association of Ontario (Spinal Cord Injury Ontario)

May provide assistance with funding for mobility devices to individuals with spinal cord injuries. Call 1-416-422-5644 for more information.

Community Service Clubs

Local community club chapters, such as the Optimists Club, Kinsmen Club, War Veterans, Royal Canadian Legion, Kiwanis Club, Shriners Club, Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Rotary Club etc., may provide funding assistance to those in need of mobility devices and wheelchair accessible vehicles in their communities. Check local listing for contact information to get more information.

NOTE: Many service clubs have national offices as well.

The Easter Seals Society

Provides programs and services to children and youth with physical disabilities. Possible maximum of $3,000 per client request. Parents must attempt to access all other sources of funding first and request must be authorized by a healthcare professional. Call 1-800-668-6252 for more information.

Insurance Companies

Many people have found they have access to funding assistance with the cost of wheelchair accessible vehicles and other medical equipment through private insurance plans through work or some credit cards. Check with your individual insurance company for more information.

Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)

ODSP helps people with disabilities who are in financial need. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, live in Ontario, in financial need and have a disability as defined by the ODSP Act. Contact your local Service Ontario location for more information.

Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy (OFCP)

A non-profit charity supporting people with cerebral palsy in Ontario. Funding is available for members of OFCP of all ages. Call 1-877-244-9686 for more information.

Ontario March of Dimes Vehicle Modification Program

Assists adults with physical disabilities who are in need of financial assistance to purchase devices to increase their mobility and functional independence. Call 1-877-369-4867 for more information.

In Canada

Muscular Dystrophy Canada

May provide funding assistance for equipment for those living with MD who are registered clients of Muscular Dystrophy Canada and have a signed equipment prescription from the appropriate healthcare professional. Call 1-866-MUS-CLE8 for more information.

Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada

May provide funding assistance for equipment for those living with MS. Funding eligibility varies from province to province. Call 1-800-268-7582 for more information.
